Communications Coordinator

Coordinates communications across FBCW. The Communications Coordinator facilitates internal and external connections through the use of various means such as social media, email, the FBCW website, calendaring, and more.

Role
The FBCW Communications Coordinator (CC) facilitates connection through creative means. Using social media, the website, email, our church app, and more, the CC ensures that FBCW events and ongoings are know internally and externally where appropriate. They also will will manage church-wide scheduling of meetings, produce promotional materials, and act as liaison to outside vendors where it impacts communications.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates ministry promotion and communications.
  • Supports church-wide communication efforts internally and externally.
  • Serve as point-of-contact for all communications efforts.
  • Creates church communications plan.
  • Maintains online church management system, Planning Center and Subsplash databases.
  • Ensure FBCW branding is properly utilized.
  • Works directly with the pastoral staff to ensure continuity throughout church objectives.
Qualifications
  1. Agree with FBCW values and statement of faith (BF&M 2000).
  2. Be willing to become church member of FBCW.
  3. High School Diploma is required.
  4. Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Experienced with administrative tasks.
  6. Possess creative instincts.

Assistant Pastor of Worship & Youth

The Assistant Pastor of Worship & Youth disciples the congregation through song and teaching. They lead the church to sing the glories of Christ and they lead the youth to know and love Christ and his church.
Scope
  • Full-time ministry position
  • Salaried: $59K - $65K annually commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Works with Students and is Music/Worship Leader for whole church.
Role
The Assistant Pastor of Worship and Youth at First Baptist Church of Welcome, NC (FBCW) provides spiritual leadership for our worship and youth gatherings. They disciple the congregation using their gift of music and prayer, sharing the Word of God, and the news of Jesus Christ through song to know the love of Christ and develop a strong foundation of faith. They also are responsible for the discipleship and evangelism of students at FBCW. The Assistant Pastor of Worship and Youth works with adult volunteers and students from 6th to 12th grade in submission to the Lead Pastor, to accomplish the Mission, Values, and Ministry Strategy of First Baptist Church of Welcome.
Responsibilities
  • Pastoral Responsibilities
    • Pastors and performs duties specifically to those in the church (i.e., hospital visits, phone calls, visits, etc.) and other duties as assigned by the Associate Pastor.
    • Submits to the direct supervision of the Associate Pastor and works in cooperation with the entire staff.
    • Meets weekly with pastoral staff to discuss service themes and other elements to be included within the gatherings. Coordinates the church music with the calendar and emphases of the church.
    • Counsels, arranges, and provides music for special meetings, ministries, and other church related activities (i.e., Funerals and Weddings) in cooperation with the appropriate individuals or groups.
    • Weighs theological integrity of selected songs for worship, and partners closely with the pastoral staff to ensure congruence of biblical teaching and worship songs.
    • Fosters a community of cooperation and excellence in all aspects of the ministries of FBC Welcome.
  • Musical Responsibilities
    SCOPE: Leads and facilitates congregational singing as a mode of discipleship in accordance with the pastoral staff and ministry philosophy of FBCW.
    • Understands and leverages music and gatherings as discipleship opportunities.
      Coordinates, plans, and provides leadership and music for all worship services as scheduled, a minimum two weekly services.
      Oversees, recruits, and trains all music ministry support volunteers.
      Selects, arranges, and prepares songs, scripture, call to worship, prayers, and relevant media for the worship team (band and vocalists) on a weekly basis in conjunction with FBCW pastoral staff.
    • Uses Planning Center Online Services (PCO) to plan and schedule.
    • Maintains presentation software for the church (Faithlife Proclaim). Directs band and the congregation in song. Organizes training and use of instrumentalists and vocalists in groups or as individuals as is necessary.
    • Coordinates set-up of all equipment for rehearsals and services with FBCW team of technology support volunteers for sound, projection, and live stream events.
    • Oversee the maintenance of all musical instruments owned by the church.
      Proficient in or be willing to learn the church provided technology, which includes LiveStream software (vMix), BlackMagic ATEM Mini Pro, and ATEM Studio elements. Must be able to publish or oversee the publishing of FBCW’s gatherings on current and future online platforms.
    • Holds all music participants to a common covenant agreement for aligning their personal lives with the responsibility of leading worship.
  • Youth Responsibilities
    SCOPE: Disciples FBCW youth and their families to know Christ and integrate them into the life of the church through evangelism, relationships, and gatherings.
    • Create and maintain relationships with students and their parents to assist them in discipleship efforts.
    • Teach, plan, and oversee the student programs on Sundays and Wednesdays.
    • Recruit and equip parents and other volunteers for the work of ministry.
    • Establish and uphold regular communication with youth and parents concerning upcoming events and ministry opportunities.
    • Lead, plan, and oversee conferences, camps, and missions opportunities for students.
      Integrate students into other church ministries.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Work with the pastoral staff in determining music ministry goals, organization, leadership, facilities, finances, and administrative processes.
    • Participates in the preparation of the church’s annual budget relative to expenditures involved in the areas of ministry that come under his supervision and sees to it that expenditures are kept within the accepted budget.
    • Keeps regular volunteer rotation and training to accomplish the mission of the music ministry and youth ministry.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent.
  • Certificate program, Bible college, or Seminary training preferred.
  • 1–3 years of Ministry Experiene
General
  • Be a born-again believer in Christ called to pastoral ministry.
  • Licensed & Ordained
  • Maintains a consistent prayer life and discipleship relationships.
  • Agrees in principle with doctrines accordance with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  • Possesses strong communication skills in the classroom and on the platform.
  • Must be able to work independently in accordance with the strategy of the church.
  • Must be able to lead, coordinate, and train a team of volunteers.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Maintain a flexible and godly disposition in every arena.
  • Provide a thorough credit check.
  • Provide full disclosure on any criminal history and submit to a criminal history background check including fingerprint and wants and warrants.
  • Undergo a drug test.
Musical
  • Two or more years of experience leading music in a church or in a similar setting.
  • Leads musically with an instrument (guitar or piano) and vocally.
  • Able to plan and execute regular and special service considering the congregations’ needs.
  • Be familiar with various instrumentation used in music.
  • Recruits and trains church musicians and vocalists.
  • Able to submit a video of themselves leading a congregation in worship.
Youth Ministry
  • Lead various levels of discipleship.
  • Recruits and equips parents and students for ministry.
  • Able to teach and preach to various levels.
  • Be familiar with communications platforms to reach students.
  • Able to submit a video of themselves teaching or preaching.
